Hello everyone!
My name is Jed Munson, and I am currently an eighth grader at Kromrey Middle School in Middleton. I am soon to turn 14 (on Friday) and have been a part of Blackhawk church my entire life.
To me, the opportunity to be apart of this short-term mission trip is something that has developed my personality and ability to adapt to certain situations. I was apart of the Honduras team this past year, and possessed a rather voracious attitude towards the trip in general. Initially I was just excited for the coming experience that I was told about by many people, and as the proccess progressed I was soon overfilled with excitement and eagerness to leave. However, the trip was called-off (with good reason) right before the day we were scheduled to leave, do to political unrest in the regions of the country. I have to say I am somewhat ashamed of how I handled the circumstances for I reacted in sulking around wistfully for the remainder of the summer. It took a me a while to realize, through the help of the Honduras team and family, that the Lord has planned great things for myself and those around me, and it is simply my inability to comprehend His intentions that propells my impatience in such matters.
I am once again very greatful to be a part of Honduras team 2010, and though I am even more excited than before for the trip, I have been brought to a better realization that what we plan to do and why we plan to do it, is for God and Him alone.
I have been striving to live a purpose driven life in all ways possible, and the fellowship I have formed with this Honduras team is one that I place a lot of appreciation in. I hope that this experience will amaze the callowness of my worldly mindset and help us all to see the true intentions of the Lord. I am eager to build bonds with the team, the people I meet, and God, hoping that out of it all I will become a better person.
Cheers.
