Katherine Davis

Hi! My name is Katherine Davis. I am thirteen years old and finishing my seventh grade year at High Point Christian School. I am very excited to be on the Honduras mission team this year because it is the first big thing I've done for God in my life, and I feel like I can really make a difference in His world. So far, I love our team because everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The leaders are also amazing!

I was nervous about my decision to be on this team at first, but now I feel very prepared and excited for the trip. I've prayed a lot about preparations, and everything has been going very smoothly so far! I have raised all of the funds I need, with the help of such generous friends and relatives. I also know that I have a strong prayer group behind me, and I fully trust God to lead our team and the decisions we make.

The thing I am most nervous about is packing. I am extremely notorious for overpacking (ask my mother), and I don't know how I am going to get myself down to Honduras for two whole weeks without hundreds of suitcases! I guess that's just another one of the many things I need God's help for!

honduras 2010 olan

Hi! My name is Olan Munson, and I'm currently a sophomore in high school. I'm uber excited about going on this awesome trip, especially looking back at the amazing experience I had two years ago (before there was a coup), and seeing all of the unique people I get to share the honduras experience with this year. I learned so much about the importance of community, and I'm looking forward to having the Lord teach me more about his boundless love and how he can use me, a small, insignifant person in this world, to take part in his greater plan where I can be a useful tool and an essential part of God's kingdom. Hopefully, this year, I won't be afflicted with "digestive issues" and I ask that everyone pray that no one on our team will be struck down by the mighty power of intestinal trauma. :) (it stinks)
Thank you all so much for your support! Everyone who contributes in prayer or donations are participating in sending a group of super duper cool peoples to experience God in a life-changing way out in the sweltering heat of Honduras. We are all so thankful...and excited!

~Olan Munson~

ps. There are jaguars in Honduras. But its O.K...We have a plan. ;] and with God, anything is possible
Hello everyone!
My name is Jed Munson, and I am currently an eighth grader at Kromrey Middle School in Middleton. I am soon to turn 14 (on Friday) and have been a part of Blackhawk church my entire life.
To me, the opportunity to be apart of this short-term mission trip is something that has developed my personality and ability to adapt to certain situations. I was apart of the Honduras team this past year, and possessed a rather voracious attitude towards the trip in general. Initially I was just excited for the coming experience that I was told about by many people, and as the proccess progressed I was soon overfilled with excitement and eagerness to leave. However, the trip was called-off (with good reason) right before the day we were scheduled to leave, do to political unrest in the regions of the country. I have to say I am somewhat ashamed of how I handled the circumstances for I reacted in sulking around wistfully for the remainder of the summer. It took a me a while to realize, through the help of the Honduras team and family, that the Lord has planned great things for myself and those around me, and it is simply my inability to comprehend His intentions that propells my impatience in such matters.
I am once again very greatful to be a part of Honduras team 2010, and though I am even more excited than before for the trip, I have been brought to a better realization that what we plan to do and why we plan to do it, is for God and Him alone.
I have been striving to live a purpose driven life in all ways possible, and the fellowship I have formed with this Honduras team is one that I place a lot of appreciation in. I hope that this experience will amaze the callowness of my worldly mindset and help us all to see the true intentions of the Lord. I am eager to build bonds with the team, the people I meet, and God, hoping that out of it all I will become a better person.
Cheers.

Jackson

Hi my name is Jackson Middleton and I am in 7th grade. I am very excited to be going on this trip it seems like it's going to be very, very fun. I want to go to Honduras because I think that it will be a life changing experience for me. As of now (May 15) I have all of my money raised, and then some, thanks to all my supporters. I am very excited for this trip because I love to travel. This will be the farthest south that I have ever been and I think it sounds like a lot of fun. I did a geography project and the section of the world I did was directly west of Honduras so I was learning a lot about the region. I can't wait.

Returning to....Getting Ready to Leave.

Hello to our five followers.(:
My name is Hanna Musto and I'm in the 8th grade. I'm not quite 14 yet, but I will be by the time we go to Honduras.
I was on the Honduras team last year that unfortunately, was not able to go because of the coup. But, I'm S.U.P.E.R. excited that I get to go this year.
Because I was going to go last year, all of my support has been raised. Thank goodness I don't have to write out all those letters again!
Last year I was nervous about a couple things having never even gone through the process before attending a mission trip out of the country. Now, though, despite my still never having been to Honduras, I'm much less nervous and much more excited to just get to go. Getting to the airport and getting on that plane will be a blessing.
I suppose the thing I'm most nervous for is actually being able to go. After what happened last year, you never know.
I am thankful for the fact that God kept us updated and grounded in the U.S. so we didn't have to witness all that was happening in Honduras. He had great timing there.
Thanks to all who have given support financially and spiritually this year and last and I'd like to ask you all to keep praying that this year's trip would be successful.

Hello My name is Taylor Stevens. I am a Freshman in Highschool and was a member of the team last year. It was a huge bummer that our team had worked so hard and the trip ended up never happening.
Since last years issue, i am even more excited to go this year. I am looking forward to adding members of our family that we created last year. It will be an amazing experience for me and everyone else. I am going to honduras so i can come to a closer relationship with the Lord. Also i hope that the students at the camp will teach us more than we are goign to be teaching them.
I am ready for June 24th to come(:
