camp: day three

We just wrapped up our third day of camp and once again it was a great day. Groups have bonded since day one with the help of high ropes, team building and some messy games. Last night Logan did an excellent job sharing his story with the group before and the first night I forgot to mention that Olan was willing to share her story spur of the moment and did a great job too.

The group also performed the Lifehouse drama that they had practiced before coming as we talked about the new identity we have in Christ after we place our faith in him. We also played a game where I got pudding all over my head which I am sure relates to Jesus in some way. He knows.

We finished the night with the cabins acting out scenes for Spider Man movies but with each group having its own movie genre.

The group continues to do well and I am thankful for a camp that has run so smoothly so far. It has offered a much needed emotional break for everyone involved. Thank you for your prayers and please keep praying as I know you are.

Good night from Honduras

  3. Hmmm...pudding is sounding really good right now! Sounds like a wonderful day. We are excited things are going well - you are a great team and I'm sure you are having a positive impact to all those you encounter. Keep up the great work!
Hannah is scheduled for another MRI on Monday so we still have no idea when we will be heading home. Wouldn't it be cool if we could be on the same plane as the rest of the team? Who knows?!? Have a wonderful day tomorrow - Happy 4th of July!

  4. Hello from Aruba!

I am so proud of all of you guys! You know (or at least you should!) that I love each of you so much!

I have enjoyed reading this blog every day. I have been praying for all of you. I am excited to hear the stories that come from this trip.

I am so thankful that many of you were able to come to my wedding - it meant so much to both me and Mike. We are having a great time in Aruba and hope that the weather is as nice for you as it is here! I am waving to you from across the Caribbean Sea!

We love you and your families so much!

Jon, you are doing a great job and I'm very excited to hear about Honduras and everything when I get back!

    Love,
Katie Kenig (and Mike says HI too!)

  5. Hi everyone!
You should be finishing up camp tonight and getting ready to pack up. We are counting the days till you come home.
Hanna- we missed you tonight. We went to the fireworks with Auntie and U. Scott and the kids. Tomorrow is the parade. Won't be the same without you. Glad you are where you are though...right where God wants you to be.
    Love you!!!

  6. Today at church I helped in the 4-5 year old room. First I talked with Noah Stevens. I asked if he missed Taylor, and he quickly said yes with a sad look on his face. I asked what he missed about her, and he said, "She helps me with a bunch of stuff."

Then I chatted with Kendall Schumacher. I asked if Maddie was her sister, and she smiled her adorable big grin and said, "Yes! She is in Honduras with my mommy." Later she told me they are coming home in three days. She enjoyed getting dressed up in some pink and silver glittery clothes.

Best of luck wrapping up camp and heading to process it all during debrief. Lots of people are eager for you to come home. :)

What an amazingly creative and yet appropriate use for pudding! :D
Great job sharing your stories, Logan and Olan! Speaking in front of others makes many an adult run for the door! Keep up the amazing work you're all doing!
Kyra, we miss you lots. I brought Taylor back from camp yesterday, and she was all smiles until she got to her room. Then, she started to tear up and said "I want Kyra." But we are so glad you're there having this experience, and we'll see you soon!
    Love, Mom
